Another early start to set off for La Rochelle as kids were super excited to meet up with their school friends who had kindly invited us to crash their family holiday at Sandaya for a few days.

The 4 hour straight drive definitely tested our 5 year old’s tolerance, going slightly stir crazy towards the end of the journey!

Sandaya is a brand of holiday resort offering lodges and camping on site with a host of kid friendly activities: pools with slides, petting farm, arcade, playgrounds etc. The stuff of childhood dreams and the kids had a ball!

We were lucky to have a lodge close to our friends and kids enjoyed having relative freedom to venture to and from the lodges and playground on their bikes. It was lovely for us to have the company of friends for a few days and we all enjoyed exploring some of the local coastline when we could drag the kids away from the site!

Felt like our first proper ‘and relax’ few days of the trip. Next stop Spain!
